Hi, I’m Jamie, the person behind the camera at Five Strand Photography. I’m a wife, a mom, and someone who has always loved taking pictures and capturing the people and moments that mean the most. I love getting to know the people I photograph, and I want our time together to feel comfortable and fun, with plenty of talking, laughing, and just being yourselves.
When I’m not taking photos, I’m usually with my family, loving on our dog Sophie, finding something creative to work on, or dreaming about someday having a little land, a slower pace of life, and probably way too many animals.
More than anything, I want you to walk away from your session with photos that feel like you and memories you’ll be glad you have years from now. I’d love the chance to get to know you and your family, too.

Photography has been a part of who I am for as long as I can remember. Anyone who knows me knows I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was a child, always wanting to capture the people, moments, and memories around me. Over the years, I’ve photographed countless milestones for friends and family, from family portraits and children to pregnancies, birthdays, weddings, celebrations, and all the beautiful everyday moments in between. What I love most about photography is capturing people as they truly are: the genuine smiles, personalities, connections, and little details that tell the story of a season in life. With Five Strand Photography, my goal is to create images that feel natural, meaningful, and personal, giving families photographs that bring them right back to the people and moments they love most.
Before Five Strand Photography, I built my career in marketing, communications, and special events, where I spent years telling stories, connecting with people, creating meaningful experiences, and bringing ideas to life. That career taught me so much about creativity, relationships, and the power of capturing and sharing a story in a way that makes people feel something. After years in the corporate world, I reached a point where I was ready for a new chapter and decided to take a leap of faith by pursuing something I’ve loved since I was a child. Five Strand Photography is more than a new business for me. It’s the opportunity to bring together decades of professional experience with a lifelong passion and build a career centered around creativity, connection, storytelling, and work that genuinely brings me joy.
